Advocacy

As an organization, TPA is dedicated to the promotion of health care and public policy which ensures the optimal health and long-term development for mothers and infants. From its inception, TPA has partnered with many organizations, such as the March of Dimes, who have a similar mission and focus. Some advocacy issues for TPA include family support, bereavement, palliative care, quality improvement, preconception health, access to care, and medical liability reform.

TPA uses a variety of mechanisms to carry out its advocacy agenda. Some of these are the hosting regional conferences for health care professionals on pertinent perinatal topics, presentations/educational offerings in various forums for consumers, maintaining a speakers bureau, legislative contact at the state level, participation in other boards or committees as well as partnering with other groups which share our agenda.
